Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable IT Technician to provide technical support, maintain IT infrastructure, and assist with the implementation of technology solutions for our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues while ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of IT systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second-line technical support to clients and internal users via telephone, email, remote access, and onsite visits.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, printers, mobile devices, servers, and other IT equipment.
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems, ensuring systems remain secure and fully operational.
  • Support Microsoft 365 services, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Exchange Online, and user account administration.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot business software, operating systems, and cloud-based applications.
  • Configure and maintain network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Monitor IT systems and network performance, identifying and resolving technical issues proactively.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, software updates, security patching, data backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, asset registers, and service tickets using the company’s IT service management systems.
  • Assist with the deployment of new IT infrastructure, cloud solutions, cybersecurity measures, and client implementation projects.
  • Provide technical guidance to clients and colleagues while ensuring a high standard of customer service.
  • Keep up to date with emerging technologies, cybersecurity threats, and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in an IT Technician, IT Support Engineer, or Technical Support role.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Experience configuring and supporting TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routers, switches, wireless networks, and firewalls.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Familiarity with virtualisation technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V is desirable.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles, endpoint protection, and data security best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified, Azure Fundamentals, or Cisco CCNA are desirable but not essential.
