Manat Bites Ltd, a growing fish and chips shop, is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Business Support Officer to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong administrative background and proficiency in office software to support the smooth day-to-day operation of our food business. The successful candidate will provide vital administrative and operational support across the business, ensuring efficient workflow, accurate record-keeping, and effective communication between the shop and management. 

Duties

  • Manage and maintain accurate records through data entry and filing systems, including stock, supplier, and sales records
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, staff rotas, and events
  • Handle incoming calls with professional phone etiquette, directing customer and supplier queries appropriately
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and presentations using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools
  • Support financial processes by using QuickBooks for invoicing, expense tracking, and supplier payments
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and organising documents
  • Coordinate communication between departments and management to facilitate seamless operations
  • Support compliance with food safety and hygiene documentation requirements
  • Support the team with ad hoc administrative duties as required to ensure organisational efficiency

Qualifications

  • Proven office experience or administrative experience in a professional setting
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Calendar)
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is desirable
  • Fast and accurate typing skills for data entry tasks
  • Good telephone manner and professional phone etiquette
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced food service environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
