Overview

The main purpose of this role is to manage the Out of Hours service and the Out of Hours team
to ensure that residents have access to quality support during evenings and nights. It is crucial
that our support is still available and of a high standard during these times when typically,
traditional services are closed and when our residents often feel at their lowest.
Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead for Out of Hours and ensure accurate and timely recording,
referrals and escalation of concerns in line with policy.
Manage the Out of Hours shift rota to ensure that consistent high quality support for residents is
provided by the appropriate number of staff at all times, while maintaining maximum efficiency.
Be accountable for efficient resourcing of the Out of Hours service, keeping overtime and Bank
costs to a minimum within budget.
Be responsible for case management in the Out of Hours team to ensure consistency and quality
of support within our framework.
Following a relationship first approach, you will motivate and inspire the Out of Hours housing
team to raise the aspirations of young people with complex needs using planned, purposeful, and
targeted interventions to meet their emotional needs and empower them to set and achieve their
ambitious goals.
You will support your teams to use the strong relationship they build with young people to act as
a gateway to exciting opportunities at YMCA and beyond and increase young people’s skills and
confidence in areas such as independent living, education, and employment.
You will support your teams to use coaching and motivational interviewing techniques to
empower young people with complex needs to achieve their goals in a person-centred and assetbased way, being fully committed to delivering a Psychologically Informed Environment including
the delivery of an asset-based, person-centred, and trauma-informed approach.
You will ensure your teams are fully compliant in all areas including GDPR, Safeguarding, Health
and Safety etc. You will ensure all reporting is completed to a high standard by the deadlines set.
