Overview
General Duties
Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Preparing construction sites, including leveling ground and setting up foundations
Measuring, cutting, and assembling materials such as wood, concrete, bricks, and steel
Installing structural elements like walls, floors, roofs, doors, and windows
Ensuring work complies with building codes and safety regulations
Construction & Installation
Operating and maintaining construction tools and machinery
Mixing and applying cement, plaster, or other construction materials
Erecting scaffolding and ladders for safe access to work areas
Installing electrical and plumbing systems in collaboration with specialists
Repair & Maintenance
Inspecting buildings for structural damage and necessary repairs
Replacing or repairing damaged parts, such as roofing, flooring, and walls
Painting, finishing, and sealing surfaces for durability
Safety & Compliance
Following workplace health and safety guidelines
Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE)
Ensuring proper waste disposal and site cleanliness
Teamwork & Communication
Coordinating with architects, engineers, and clients
Supervising laborers or apprentices on-site
Providing progress updates and resolving construction issues
