Overview
Construction Supervisor — Hybrid/Remote
Location: [Greater London area & West Midland]
Employment type: [Full-time / Contract]
Reports to: [Project Manager / Construction Manager]
Work arrangement: Hybrid, with regular on-site presence at active project locations
Position Summary
We’re seeking an organised, safety-focused Construction Supervisor to coordinate day-to-day construction activities and help deliver projects safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards. The role combines hands-on site supervision with remote planning, reporting, coordination, and documentation.
Because construction work requires in-person oversight, the supervisor will spend time on-site as project needs dictate. Remote work may be available for tasks that can be performed effectively off-site.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily site activities, subcontractors, trades, and site personnel.
Coordinate work sequencing, short-term schedules, deliveries, and site access.
Monitor progress against project plans, specifications, budgets, and milestones.
Promote and enforce site safety requirements; identify hazards and follow up on corrective actions.
Inspect work for quality and conformance with approved plans, specifications, and applicable requirements.
Coordinate with project managers, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Lead site meetings and communicate priorities, issues, and schedule changes.
Maintain daily reports, photos, progress updates, inspection records, and other project documentation.
Track RFIs, change requests, punch-list items, and outstanding work.
Escalate delays, design conflicts, safety concerns, and resource needs promptly.
Complete remote administrative and coordination work when on-site supervision is not required.
Qualifications
years of experience in construction supervision, site coordination, or a related role.
Experience coordinating subcontractors and multiple construction activities.
Working knowledge of construction methods, drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
Familiarity with site safety practices and quality-control processes.
Comfortable using digital tools for project documentation, scheduling, communication, and reporting.
Strong communication, organisation, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel to project sites, if required.
Relevant trade qualification, construction-management education, or safety certification is an advantage.
Hybrid Work Arrangement
This role requires regular travel to active construction sites. Remote work may be used for planning, reporting, meetings, procurement coordination, and other suitable administrative tasks. The supervisor must be available for on-site work when construction activity, inspections, safety needs, or project requirements call for it.
