Overview

  • Preparing high-quality meals for customers from the menu and ensuring food is served in good time and well-presented
    Helping to manage any kitchen staff, motivating and inspiring them to prepare, cook, and serve high-quality food
    Helping to organize weekly staff rotas, evaluate work schedules daily, and distribute key tasks to kitchen staff.
    Working alongside the Front House Supervisor to ensure good working relationships are maintained between kitchen and table waiting staff, within a fast-paced and pressurized environment
    Working with the management team to develop menus using fresh, good quality, and healthy ingredients for the café including meal ideas for special events
    Assisting with menu pricing
    Overseeing the preparation of food ensuring they match menu specifications and meet the quality standard and presentation
    Assisting with design and advice of kitchen remodeling where necessary
    Adhering to Food Safety Standards, and maintaining high levels of cleanliness in the kitchen at all times – we expect to always maintain a 5* Hygiene rating
    Keeping accurate records, including food hygiene records according to regulators’ guidance, staff timesheets, etc, and providing performance reports as required by the management team
    Supporting and training young people in kitchen-based work experience encouraging them to gain skills and work-based qualifications to improve their employability
    Develop supplier networks and ensure a good reputation for using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients
    Controlling stock levels, monitoring wastage, and ensuring that waste is kept to an absolute minimum.
    Monitor and purchase food and supplies
    Share good practices when required with the Miracle Café chefs from other locations
    Any other duties proportionate with the role as required by management.
